Weather Station Finder Sometime during the morning of the 7th June 2007 Weather Station Finder's database became corrupt. The support team at 1and1 were working to restore the data to 6th June.
WSF has since received the following from the hosting company:
"Thank you for contacting us.
The backup was requested on the 7th, but when it was, no one that has the permissions to pull backups was available to do it. This is left in the queue to be done by the morning shift who does have access to do this. Normal procedure. However, by the next morning, the backup was no longer available because our backup system had purged the backup from the sixth of June.
I apologize no one had told you about this earlier, the case itself is seperate from the backup request form and the person that did it did not update the case."
As you can imagine, we were shocked by this response and decided to take immediate action and move to a new hosting company, one that gives us greater control over our own backups. WSF is now back up and running and all DNS entries have propogated successfully. When you arrive at the site you will unfortunately need to re-register your weather website to WSF. We look forward to seeing you there and apologise for the inconvenience caused. |
