Higher and higher

As it’s been hot lately we have been leaving the windows in the top rooms of the apartment open during the day. Normally the cat doesn’t worry about jumping onto the roof via one of the windows and we haven’t worried either. That was until about 2 weeks ago when there was a sad little ‘meow’ wafting in through said window. Yep she was on the roof and as it’s quite a jump from ledge to roof I didn’t want to think what would have happened if she had missed her footing.

She was finally coaxed back inside by Him Indoors and the windows were left partly ajar. We thought this was a one off on her part but nooooo she did it again 2 days ago and this time decided that instead of being a good cat and coming when she was called she would roll on her back all over the edge of the roof onto the guttering. Thankfully I was elsewhere while this was going on, as my fear of heights would just have exacerbated the situation. Him Indoors managed to get a headlock on her and dragged her back inside. So now we swelter in the heat with one window partly ajar and the other wide open but with a protective screen blocking the way out.

The cat has also discovered the 14 new catnip seedlings that have been planted in the front gardens. They were not put there for her amusement or addiction but to hopefully get the bees back into the gardens. While I was getting one of the gardens ready to plant them she had her head in the bag ripping the leaves and stalks off one of the plants.

I must say she is very docile after a good feed of catnip its about the only time you can pick her up without losing an arm or eye.

I managed to get all the catnip plants into the garden while the stoned cat lay under a rose bush watching what I was doing. They do look nice even though some of them look like they have been nibbled by a flock of ducks instead of one addicted cat!!
