If anyone wants to be notified when earthquakes take place, magnitude, location, depth etc., they can go to the website at: GeoNet – Home and subscribe for automatic notifications.

Re: Earthquakes in NZ - auto notification

Since the American GNS feed seems to have died (as used in Carter Lake Pages) I have a page using the NZ Geo service RSS feed. It has generated quite a bit of interest from those who have seen it on my dev server.

Its certainly more useful now that they have added the graphics to the RSS. I did say I would consider adding the data to the forum. We have a geology section for such events, combined with tsunami etc, do you think it would be a benefit for NZW ?

Well my people doing user testing on my dev server all liked it as general added value, but are not likely to visit it often.

Re: Earthquakes in NZ - auto notification

Hi

Yep - I have had the feed on my site for a while:

Hutt Weather - Recent Earthquakes

It's always proved popular - around 55 hits in the last month, which doesn't seem alot, but that's within the top 20.

But then if you put it on here, I'd have no reason to go to my site and check.....
Cheers

Re: Earthquakes in NZ - auto notification

I have now added a variation to the theme, using the Geonet feeds to the reports section of the Geology forum. You can find it directly by going to New Zealand Earthquake Reports - NZ Weather
