Re: Melbourne weather

nah don't have my own wx station. I just post the temps recorded at the official station in downtown Melbourne.

Speaking of heat..
I will now list some extreme nocturnal temps in Victoria that have been branded into my memory due to their spectacularity:

Melbourne, Dec 31, 2005 ............. 35.5ºC at 1:30am
Melbourne, Jan 6, 2007 ............... 34.0ºC at midnight
Mildura, Feb 16, 2004 ................. 38.0ºC at midnight
Wangaratta, Jan 1, 2006 ............. 34.5ºC at 3:00am
Wilsons Prom, Jan 1, 2006 ........... 37.2ºC at 2:00am

(wilsons Prom is the southernmost point on the Australian mainland and is a spectacular area)
PS just out of interest, are there many other locations near Melbourne's latitudes (S/N36-39ºC) capable of such heat at night, beside the obvious few such as the deserts near Las Vegas?

Re: Melbourne weather

The Wangaratta value is quite surprising as Wangaratta, and northeast Victoria in general, is notoriously cold at night, even in summer temps can drop below 10ºC! However, summer days there are hot, with 4 months of the year averaging above 30ºC.

Re: Melbourne weather

The weather here is so awful

unbelievably cold and gloomy. A travesty

Sunday - Fine. - Min 11 Max 22
Monday - Shower or two. - Min 11 Max 20
Tuesday - Shower or two. - Min 11 Max 18
Wednesday - Becoming fine. - Min 13 Max 20
Thursday - Few showers. - Min 13 Max 19
Friday - Shower or two. - Min 11 Max 18

meanwhile, Perth, will have 30C days for the WHOLE WEEK. The same high presure cell which is giving them the good weather and us the s**t is not moving for the whole week. Some people are saying we have only a couple of +25C days left and that winter is here...in March

The only time this weather is good is when you have a special someone to cuddle during those cold rainy nights. Sadly I dont
