Re: Sydney's Weather

Friday was mainly sunny with some high cloud at times & warm with westerlies, max of 28oC.

Had plenty of sun Saturday but unfortunately the nasty westerly put paid of going to the beach for a change on a weekend!

Yesterday - Mainly sunny with cloud from time to time, becoming colder as day progressed, 20oC in the morning, 16oC in the afternoon, the gale force westerly was absolutely awful & felt so cold in the afternoon. Max gust of 80km/hr. Some light showers from time to time.

Today - Cold, mainly cloudy and showery (especially morning) with cold SW winds at gale force (Max gust of 78km/hr at airport so far). 19oC in city & 17 at airport.

MTD sun total at 145 hrs (to end yesterday).

Re: Sydney's Weather

That's low sunshine hrs for you guys, isn't it? Maybe next weekend will break the pattern!
Our weekend turned out very pleasant: low twenties, overnight low of 17 degrees, lots of Sun until a short while ago. Now the rain (your rain, I think) is coming....

Re: Sydney's Weather

Yes it is ATO2, in fact I've yet to see "wall to wall" sunshine MTD as there has not been a single day that's been totally free from clouds. Looking at more cloudy, cool and wet weather until Sunday when expected to be sunny.

Cool and windy with periods of sun/cloud after some overnight light showers, however better than yesterday for sure as the SW wind changed to the south. 15/22 in city & 15/19 at airport.

Re: Sydney's Weather

Yesterday - Mostly sunny with some cloudy periods. Cool and windy from the SE. Max of 22oC.

Today - Quite a grey & dull day & cool with fresh SE-E winds. 16/20oC.(Airport 16/19)

With wet and cloudy weather expected from tomorrow to Saturday, I don't expect the monthly sunshine total to go pass the 200 hr mark (167 hrs MTD ending yesterday & probably under 1 hr for today & 4 more days of this month to go.). Temps seem to be slightly below average, will check further over weekend or so.

Highest Max so far this month is just 30.3oC.

Re: Sydney's Weather

Yesterday: In spite of the "wet & cloudy" forecast, ended up sunny and clear until around 4pm then cloud swept in. Mild & humid day with coolish NE winds in the afternoon. Max of 23oC. Over night shower.

Today: After a warm night with low of 19oC - mostly cloudy & windy day with periods of rain around midday and late evening with the latter having thunder. Humid northerlies strong to gusty at times in exposed places. Max of 24oC (Airport 18/26).

Due to the change in forecast, expected to be fine & sunny from tomorrow afternoon afterwards for next 5 days so I think now we might just about reach 200 hours after all.

Re: Sydney's Weather

Sorry for not updating recently, so busy with things. Anyway am now on holidays for a month from work. Back to work on Monday 12th January. Have more time this week to focus on the wonderful subject we know as weather/climate

Weather over the past week has been quite changeable. We've had a bit of everything from hot, dry NW days (Saturday had 34oC) to colder southerlies in the evening, storms with thunder, heavy rain & lightning, showers, strong winds and cloudy & sunny days. Not many clear days as can be expected for this time of the year. 61 hrs MTD.

Yesterday: Cool & mostly cloudy with sunny spells with gusty easterlies. Evening storm dumped heavy rain over Bondi lasting 5 minutes with moderate for next 10 minutes along with thunder and lightning. Max of 22oC.

Today: After some early patches of cloud, a sunny morning with light to moderate winds, humid. Afternoon high cloud with some patches of blue skies & strong to gusty NE winds, less humid. Max of 25oC after low of 17 degrees. (Airport 17/27).

Next couple of days - more changeable weather with storms/showers tomorrow with a strong southerly change in the morning, cooler Thur/Fri with showers/rain as a low drifts south with N-NE winds then heating up rapidly on Saturday with 31oC as winds turn drier NW due to the low in the STS then a couple of pleasant sunny, dry days to follow with cooler minimums before turning to the south Tuesday.

Warm last night. Southerly swept thru about half an hr ago, brought low cloud but clearing now with mostly sunny skies. Off to the beach for a walk
