Re: Sydney's Weather

I'm afraid BOM (Oz) is starting to charge quite some hefty fees for some data not available on the site. Previously I could get the monthly bulletin (Sydney) for 80 cents per page. Only recently have they tried to charge me $30 for just 3 pages of data, I questioned why such a jump in fees. The response was it was taking up staff's time to which I replied that 3 minutes of photocopying data does not equate to $30. Needless to say we reached an impasse at that point so I "spoke" to the supervisor and he let me have the data for $2.40. Got to put your foot down and get your point across when necessary! Also if I ask a question (when was the coldest day etc), they try to charge $17 or $30 - I certainly object to this, in the end I get the data free

If your rainfall carries on, and your water supply ends up overflowing you can become exporters of water!
It is becoming a very valuable commodity!

Lets hope so. I somewhat doubt that our "main" dams will "overflow", hope I am proved wrong. Looks like some more good rains over next 2 weeks but not so good after that judging by current models.

Re: Sydney's Weather

Weather since start of yesterday to now has been very cloudy, dark, cold and damp with drizzle, light/moderate showers and light to moderate S-NE winds.

Certainly a very cloudy start to June. To end yesterday only 11.5 hours of sun has been recorded with 6 days having no sun. Saturday alone had 8.8 hrs.

City: 13/16
Airport: 13/18
Highest max: 18 at Airport
Lowest max: 16 at Badgerys Creek, City, Terrey Hills and Richmond
Lowest min: 10 at Richmond

Minimum temps MTD have been well above average due to the frequent cloud. Daytime temps a bit cooler than usual.

Rain to 9am:
Ob Hill: 3.6mm
Airport: 0.8mm
Rose Bay: 3mm

Since 9am:
Ob Hill: 1.6mm
Airport: 1.2mm
Rose Bay: 2.4mm

Quite a wet week expected with some sun tomorrow/Wednesday, rain clearing for Thursday then showers on Friday to next Monday as we come under a moist S-SE airflow. How I do like those .

JUNE 1964: Rain totalled 407.5mm for the month. All of this fell from the 6th to 13th during a very wet and moist S-SE airflow. To 9am on the 12th 101.9mm fell. Southerly gales were recorded on 3 days of this period with the highest gust of S 93km/hr on the 12th and SE 87km/hr on the 10th. Local flooding occurred with widespread damage from the gales. No sun was recorded from the 7th to 12th.
