Re: Sydney's Weather

You can't have all the clear, dry stuff for yourself.Once July is over, do you have much to worry about, weather wise? (other than droughts, heatwaves and the like?)

Re: Sydney's Weather

You said it ATO2 (Re can't have etc comment).

Got home from work 10 minutes ago. BOM's forecast of "shower or two" for today turned out to be occasional slow-moving showers, some heavy especially in the city. Since showers started at 5 30am - 15mm for the city, 7mm at Rose Bay and 8mm at the airport. Seems like the heaviest falls fell between the airport & Rose Bay as "Wifey" said they were quite heavy at Bondi.

After a clear night with minimum of 8 degrees, clouded over rapidly around 4 50am & showers started around 5 30am making for a very cold & mostly cloudy day with the temp hovering around 8 degrees for most of the morning, eventually reaching a top of 13oC in the city with moderate SE winds.

Classic Winter's Day

heh, heh. Well I predict that this month you will see plenty more.
I predicted Dollsworth would collect his 3rd thunderstorm and it was so. (Just- I gotta work on the Math!)
Gotten cold here: turning SW, which is often squally. The Sun has popped out so hopefully will warm the house up so I don't have to light a fire til evening.

Well I'll hold you to that ATO2

8.45am update: Overcast and cold with little wind. Everything looks so clean and fresher after yesterday's heavy showers .

Re: Sydney's Weather

Mostly cloudy with some sunny periods especially during the afternoon. Cool with light to breezy winds - quite a nice day though due to lack of wind. Went for walk on beach in afternoon, quite a lot of people promenading.

City: 9/17
Airport: 9/18 (Highest max along with Olympic Park)
Lowest min: 4 at Campbelltown (SW)

Re: Sydney's Weather

It's been very cold over last few days including today with plenty of cloud & some sunny periods from time to time.

Yesterday (Wed 9th): Sunny at first then high cloud sweeping in from the SW, becoming overcast by midday with couple of hours rain during the evening. Very cold with low of 6 degrees and high of 13oC, when the rain arrived temps hovered around 8-9 degrees, certainly a bitterly cold and wet evening. 2mm at Ob Hill and 3mm at Rose Bay.

Today: Very cold again with frequent high cloud & sunny periods. Cold NW winds fresh to strong at times especially on the coast. Low of 7 and high of 15 and 6/16 for the airport.

After the warmer than usual June minimums especially during the 1st 3 weeks, the cold of lately has been a big shock to us all!, also unusual to have quite a lot of cloud in SW-W airflows.
