| Re: Severe Tropical Cyclone Jacob **UPGRADED** Tropical Cyclone Jacob is expected to continue its southeast track in the next 24 to 48 hours towards the Pilbara coast. Gales may commence on the Pilbara coast between Onslow and Port Hedland late Sunday afternoon or evening and a coastal crossing is possible overnight into Monday morning. The system has shown recent signs of weakening and has been downgraded to Category 2. A Category 4 impact now looks unlikely, however it is possible that TC Jacob will reintensify overnight back to a Category 3 system and residents should continue to plan for the potential impact of a severe tropical cyclone. ![]() |

| Re: Tropical Cyclone Jacob **DOWNGRADED** Tropical Cyclone Jacob is expected to continue its southeast track towards the Pilbara coast. GALES with gusts to 110 kilometres per hour may develop on the Pilbara coast between Coral Bay and Pardoo later today or overnight. Tropical Cyclone Jacob has weakened overnight and is unlikely to intensify prior to making landfall. The chances of the cyclone intensifying prior to landfall has now reduced. However, it may still cross as a category 2 system resulting in potential DESTRUCTIVE WINDS with gusts to 150 kilometres per hour near the centre developing before it reaches the coast on Monday. ![]() |
