That's a decent earthquake, the map indicates it is likely to have been felt as far north as Rotorua and Tokoroa, and local damage is likely within 20kms. Reasonably shallow at 30kms.

It's certainy lively in NZ by the sound of things - our last earthquake was 28th Feb and that was felt pretty much up and down the country (I was asleep at the time). But we hardly get noticable ones like you get

Didn't feel it myself, but there were several people in my district who did. It wasn't that strong here, of course but a reminder of the power of the things.
