Re: Weather reports for August 5th, 2008

Gosh - that looks like a cold front coming through, it's on the 6am isobaric, which uses 4am data, shown to be 100kms or so east off the Northland coast at 4am..., hmmm 25kms/hr possible I guess.

Fine partly cloudy spring morning here (wish the solar sensor was up on the roof to see it!!) and its going to be a nice day, southerly tonight they said - another clear sky tonight perhaps... 3.6ºC minimum this morning. More later.

Warmed up nicely with a sunny day. I am looking forward to seeing the solar readings when your system is up and running.

Re: Weather reports for August 5th, 2008

Sunny from midmorning, decidely cool, dusting on the Orongorongos.

I hope Blue Skies' August part of its 3-month outlook (Aug-Oct) is "wrong" - suggesting more depressions before a likely return to westerlies in September.

I hope they are wrong too!We deserve a break from all this stuff! Stayed sunny until around 4.30pm. Coolish though, not much over 13 degrees.

Re: Weather reports for August 5th, 2008

RWood - Bob McDavitt has made a similar comment as reported in Stuff.co.nz and in The Press - originally. I made a copy of the article in August storms thread, NZ Climate.
