Re: Weather reports for August 28th, 2008

Clear sunny conditions, may yet get to about 160 hrs for the month despite high rainfall.

Re: Weather reports for August 28th, 2008

Clouded a bit now. Wind has changed to an 8km/hr Westerly. Interesting to see the airflow around the mountain:
Starting at the city : W
AWS at bell Block airport: S
Stratford: S
Cape Egmont: SSE
The city did an abrupt change to N around late morning then NW, now W. A few miles away, to the east, the airport seems to have stayed S. The other two stations have remained fairly constant as well.

Still a perfect day in the Garden City. We got to 16C (well I think we did - we'll see if Jim and Toni agree tonight) before the breeze swung round to light easterly and we dropped back to 12 fairly quickly.

Re: Weather reports for August 28th, 2008

After the minmum of 1.9ºC (Arthur had -0.8ºC) it graduated to a high of 17.3ºC at 14:30, so it was a very pleasant day with the clouds arriving this afternoon, since 1pm it was mainly a westerly breeze of aboiut 12km/hr with a gust of 26.6km/hr at 15:00. A quite lovely mixed bag day with no rain LOL.

I was texting someone and we were remarking on that astonishing fact that it had not rained for 3 days!

I can't see us getting past 140 hrs for the month.
At least there's some more fine days on the way!

I'll "round down" to 150 for safety I think - tomorrow supposed to be cloudy with showers, OK in w/end.
