| Re: Weather reports for September 3rd, 2008 Your Celtic heritage? Trouble in NZ is that the winds and temps that aren't all that high allow people to stay out longer than they should...I can also recall during the cool (with record cloudiness for various NI places) December 1992 I went to a cricket ODI at the Basin on the 26th - fresh NW and a thin high overcast meant conditions weren't pleasant, but in spite of a nil sunshine reading for the day the radiation was sufficient to give me a red face and neck the next day afer being in the open for several hours! I was with a group so couldn't easily get to shelter - but have never risked it since. Last edited by RWood; 04-Sep-2008 at 09:48. |

| Re: Weather reports for September 3rd, 2008 My heritage! For sure- may have been right for hiding in a cloudy climate! You are right- our moderate Summer temperatures do let people stay outside instead of seeking shelter. I don't burn for three months of the year and from now on I have to factor it in until mid May. But I always wear a hat, even in Winter. |
