| Weather reports for September 7th, 2008 Happy Fathers day to all you Dad's out there. Brilliant morning here in Avalon. Minus 1, wind chill factor of Minus 2. Frost everywhere. Clear skies, tiny breeze, sun-filled morning. Enjoy your Fathers Day. Am off to the Tui Brewery for a Fathers Day Car Club Event.

| And morning to you, too, Babs.Got down to 6 degrees here, beauty morning, cloudless...sat out in the Sun with a coffee enjoying the view across the sea. Didn't feel your earthquake, but there is a nice oval shaped cluster of reports on the geonet site. Tui brewery, eh? My son is a Tui man but I prefer Export Gold. Wonder where I went wrong? | Thanks Babs, sounds like fun off to Maingatinoka, lots of winding country roads over there! Yes a sunny day too, frost in sheltered areas although a min of 2.4ºC recorded here. Almost calm, wind gusting to 6km/hr and an average of 3km/hr... Noone else up and I already burnt the porridge - ok another pot to get going!! Weeping willow leaves sprouting, birds are noisy this morning! It's spring!!

| Re: Weather reports for September 7th, 2008 Not so flash in CHCH. It's fine, 7.7C @ 8:30, but with 90% cloud cover and already a fairly stiff nor' easterly blowing, putting pay to my plans for doing some spraying around the garden in the supposedly still early morning conditions. No idea what Father's Day may bring for me, but one daughter is away at Uni in Dundedin and the other (Yr 13 at CGHS) came in late last night well after we'd gone to bed, so I'm not anticipating an early morning cup of tea to be delivered to my bedside - more likely to be the other way around |

| Re: Weather reports for September 7th, 2008 Well, yes my expectations of weather are blown away although Wxsim did forecast partly cloudy in morning to cloudy in afternoon. It's come earlier that's all - full cloud cover now but calm and only 8.4ºC after the sudden rise while the sun was out. Off to church later, second brew of porridge on the way - "A good cook watches the broth" - I must remember!! Still noone else up and about.

| Are you suggesting that there is nothing to look forward to? Anyway, it's 12 degrees here, barely noticeable SSE wind. Blue sky, except for some thin haze to the north east. Last edited by ATO2; 07-Sep-2008 at 09:39. Reason: monkey blinded by more sunlight |

| Re: Weather reports for September 7th, 2008 Had a glorious day in the Wairarapa. Beaut Fathers day BBQ at the Tui Brewery. Came home via QE2 Park in Masterton where we stopped for afternoon tea. Fine, clear and cool back here in Avalon.
