| 8am, New Plymouth: 15 degrees, sunny, some cloud. SE ly around 25 kph, gusting to 40 kph. Time to mow the lawns again...sometimes I envy those people who don't have to mow their lawns every week because their grass actually stops growing! |

| Re: Weather reports for May 10th, 2008 Today - what a scorcher! Temp reached 28C in shade, 31C in milky sunshine and it was extremely humid. Several people i know were complaining of bad headaches, i myself had a headache, and one friend turned seriously ill (shan't go into detail ). Hazy sunshine for most of the day, some convective clouds built up mid-afternoon, but cleared by late afternoon and now the skies are pretty much clear but still very warm outside @12.8C currently (23:19).

| Re: Weather reports for May 10th, 2008 The positioning of the low over the NI meant our Friday evening rain, though it got lighter and varied between drizzle and drizzling rain, went on almost without any breaks till the evening. Unusual for a period of rain to last that long. It was easterly flow around the low (locally felt as a weak SE) of the kind that has not been very common in the last few years with their mainly El Nino bias. |
