Post Weather Reports for the 24th June, 2008

New Plymouth 6.30am. Has been wet but currently dry. Totally cloudy, little wind, around ten degrees.
Airport AWS reckons it is 13 degrees, WNW, 43 km/h. That is an unusual difference from my location.
TV1, in its wisdom, reported a maximum of 12 for New Plymouth, yesterday. It was actually 15 degrees and the afternoon was very pleasant with Sun! LOL

Some clearance overnight after a cool wet day yesterday with not much wind. Now waiting to see what kind of SSW/S action will arrive this morning.

Tokoroa - steady rain has started falling - 2.5mm since 7am, temps moderate at 5-6ºC right through the night, winds steady at 8km/hr, baro rose 5hPa to 997, winds still NNW to NW. Left the bike at home and still in cycling gear, but drove the car!! LOL

It will be interesting, for sure. Relatively light winds here (9am) but around 52 km/h SW at Cape Egmont, gusting to 65 km/h

Re: Weather Reports for the 24th June, 2008

High cloud cleared away, but still some patches of lower cloud drifting past from about WNW, so sun spasmodic. Hoping for a sunny walk into town before anything unpleasant might occur.

NOAA mid-morning satellite pic is worth a look! (9:50)

Re: Weather Reports for the 24th June, 2008

It is reasonably decent here: Sun is out, warming the place up nicely. Wind is around 51 km/h at Cape Egmont, 23 km/h in town, can't get AWS readings other than 3hrly.

Sunny for several hours now, light WNW. Will try and get a photo of approaching squall line if any - it may partly bypass us to the SE.
