Reports: Heavy Rain 28 to 29 June 2008

Heavy rain is expected into eastern parts of South Island during the 28th and 29th June 2008.

Please post your heavy rain reports here. If you have the equipment, please also state rate, depth and totals.

Well until the ground reports start to come in, I will take some infomration from NZWN. Currently the 4 stations we have in the Caterbury area are reporting 15 to 18 mm of rain. I think most of this has occured in the last few hours

Many parts still affected by heavy rain

Canterbury stations reporting 20 to 32mm
Wellington District 15 to 30mm

Please provide ground reports and rain rates if possible

i notice a few stations are using midnight reset instead of 9am (nz standard) reset time for the rain etc
makes it hard then to compare stations totals on the mesomap
(e.g matamata, bobnz in chch , and a welly station by the looks too)

I recorded 32mm, peak intensity of 17 m/hr here in Rolleston.

I know of a station in Christchurch which recorded over 50mm

29.2mm so far since midnight (now 11am) and 35.8mm for current rain event.
Peak rate 90mm/hr at around 4:40 am.

A further 3.6mm today since 9am, this fell in half a dozen showers that past through.

Wellington district stations are still reporing between 40 and 55mm of rainfall today.
