New Plymouth, 6.30am: 7 degrees, slight SSE, mostly cloudy, but a very nice crescent Moon with reddish/brown Earthshine.

I like that - not seen one before. Do you want to upload it as an attachment, incase you change or delete the file from your server?

Gosh! That makes about 60% of the time your average wind was over 25kts!! And all that 60% within just a 90deg window!! Some narrow wind band and continuous blow! How do the clothes stay on the line?

Hmmm, now we need a WINDY icon...

Low Re: Weather Reports: July 1st, 2008

Today dawned clear and slightly foggy - comments elsewhere, now bright sunshine - oh for a solar sensor!! Soon, I promise! Frosty and cold ride to work, wind has been calm overnight and still only an occasional murmour. Still direction not swirling and very steady on S - SE (despite only 2m above the roof...) Baro has risen steadily to 1017.3 and the temp is now 6.3ºC heading for 12ºC perhaps.

Re Windy's post: There's only a few % (the light blue edges) of 25kt+ average, surely.

That's how I would read it...say around 1 per cent of the time for SW + 25 knots
