Twist Tornado Taranaki 3rd July 2008

This is from the Fairfax website: there is no other information:
Taranaki is on tornado alert after a twister demolished two barns near Inglewood this morning.

Linda Brown, on Everett Rd, said the family watched in fear from their house as the tornado formed in the sky.
It first hit their hayshed, spreading the wreckage over their house. It then crossed the road taking out another shed.
The strike comes exactly a year after a twister struck central New Plymouth wrecking a huge hardware store and causing extensive damage to several homes and other buildings.
The very next day a swarm of tornadoes hit causing millions of dollars worth of damage.
The seaside town of Oakura was worst hit with a number of homes being destroyed.

Re: Tornado Taranaki 3rd July 2008

I dont suppose there is anyone around thats able to do a site visit, to perhaps confirm rotation in the damage trail?

More info here, but nothing much to go on; I've upgraded the thread to a RFMI - request for more information

Two barns were destroyed by a twister that ripped through the Taranaki settlement of Inglewood this morning.

Linda Brown, on Everett Rd, said her family watched in terror from their house as the tornado formed in the sky, the Taranaki Daily News reported.

It first hit their hay shed, spreading the wreckage over their house and then crossed the road taking out another shed.

A series of twisters struck Taranaki at this time last year, leaving millions of dollars worth of damage in New Plymouth and surrounding settlements
