Yup, very difficult to take a photo as an amateur, had to wait for the sun to go behind some quickly passing altocumulus to reduce the glare to actually get a shot

, 5 of which actually showed the outline of the SUn, the others just huge white blobs

Notice how it was just the top left corner eclipsed, the rest remained?

This eclipse was hardly publicised on the tv or radio, i bet if you asked someone in the street about it they wouldn't have a clue! But 1999, everyone flocked down to the southwest and onto the beaches to view the
total eclipse.
A grand 10-11% of the sun was covered here today, much higher than this the further north you were (ie Scotland) but they were plagued with torrential rain and flooding unfortunately

It's a shame, 2 weeks of HIGH pressure and clear skies, and then the LOW's move in just in time for this! This also happened on 21 Feb for the total lunar eclipse!
