Appending Data WD Ver 10.37K Build 14

Yesterday we lost power and phone at 15:00. I noticed when I started the WD this morning the data for the period of shutdown is missing. The base unit continued to operate during the shut down. Is there some flag I have to set to get this data to append?

are you using it as direct mode or via the software that comes with it, in WD?

Hi I am using Direct mode. I uninstalled the sofware that came with it and have the base unit "talking" to the WD then uploads with WD Live to the web page

Re: Appending Data WD Ver 10.37K Build 14

ok, the direct mode only works for live data , not missed data
next time you need to get missed data,
what you need to do is to run the software that comes the station, first, before running wd, and let it catch up on the missed data
then start up wd, and untick to use direct, and then make sure the data file is selected correct to piggy back of the data thats created with the software that comes with the station, then go to control panel, data logger setup, make sure the switch is on there and then set the time/date to get the missed data from and then restart WD and let it catch up...once caught up then tick use direct, and exit the software that comes with the station

you can still get the missed data by doing the above, but first delete from the WD logfile, 72008lg.txt the data from after you want to get the missed data added in..then when WD has all caught up, then go to action, convert wd logfiles to data files, and click on convert and then click on recreate last 31 days data file

Thumbs up Re: Appending Data WD Ver 10.37K Build 14

Yes there are some wonderful corrective tools for your data in WD, some of it is a bit manual, but then you need the eyes to see the errors in the first place, sometimes I use Excel for finding errors, but you have to do the log file manual editing and saving quickly or while WD is turned off otherwise the current data is missed or it corrupts some on the way back in if you have it open for editing. If you are looking at an extensive job, then take a copy of the file and edit it elsewhere, then paste in the recent data at the end, then a quick save and you may have only lost a minute that way.

Re: Appending Data WD Ver 10.37K Build 14

Thanks. I have a bit of software in my Forensic tool kit called Active data. I can do very large data compares over multiple files. I will run it up and see what happens

I have noticed the WD Barometer display is stuck on 983.9Hpa despite the base unit recording a different reading. This started when the power cut happened, howevr I am now reading the information direct so I would have thought the display would mirror the base unit.Any ideas.?
