Angry Vodafone and me

Hey any ideas from members on this one, please?
I have had ihug as my ISP and home phone line provider. Anyway, ihug got swallowed by vodafone and from August 1st the brands seem to have merged in.
Anyway... my latest invoice arrives from vodafone. It has a $4 charge for call diversion (immediate).
I have never had, nor asked for such a service. I check on line and find that it has been selected for me. I deselect but the charge is still on my invoice of course.
OK. I phone vodafone several times: shortest wait time was 40 minutes!
Try email: exactly, try emailing if you are an ihug customer. Go figure: even power companies can make it reasonably simple.
In the end I sent an email directly to support@vodafone.co.nz (figured they should have a catch-all).
Have a nice day and another nice day etc.
I left telecom because they were awful and ihug had great deals. Vodafone's deals are not as good as ihug's were. And I don't live in a huge city where there is competition.
What do you reckon?

Re: Vodafone and me

ATO2 - have a look at World Exchange WorldxChange :: Welcome to Exceptional Service at Better Prices for phone and tolls services and xnet.co.nz for their ISP services.

I have had no problems with them and courteous and helpful AH service. I rate them highly for the service I get. Local data transfer download rates at up to 470kB/sec nearly 4mb/s here in Tokoroa. Mind you, we are beside the main trunk.

Re: Vodafone and me

The download number you gave is very good, but upload is a bit slow, mine is about 680 I think from memory, but that's only necessary for graphic uploads like my Wx stn does.

Good luck!! xnet was given a high rating in an independent survey of national ISP's last year. Maxnet was highest IIRC.

Re: Vodafone and me

Progress report on my switch over.
I rung Xnet to sign up on Monday, they told me it would be 6-10 working days to change over.

I am already using their service, naked DSL working, new phone number working, temp number working (until old number gets ported over).

Talk about under promising and over delivering

I guess the other 8 days will be waiting for old mother telecom to allow the number to be ported!!
