NZ Weather reports for Tuesday 9th February 2010. Please post your weather observations in this thread. If the weather is changeable, you may want to update us more than once throughout the day. If the weather becomes significant - ie high winds, heavy rain, thunderstorms etc, you may want to consider starting a new topic to record this special event. This topic is open to everyone within New Zealand. You can take a look out of the window, read your garden thermometer or if you have a weather station, post the current data. Taking part is the important thing, as the topics keep an interesting record of the weather conditions throughout the day from around the country. Please remember to post a location with your report as your profile location may change in time.
The daily weather reports will open automatically at midnight. If you happen to find a day where this topic has not been prepared, please copy and paste the above paragraph into a new topic and change the dates accordingly.
Its mostly blue sky this morning, with some high cloud. Wind is nil, overnight low of 15.4°C - just beginning to increase now, 98% RH and steady baro of 1022.9 hPa. I think it could get quite warm today if the high cloud doesn't develop as it did yesterday.

Noted on the way to work, plenty of mid level cloud about - making it mostly cloudy now.

I was just about to comment how the forecast low for last night was so wrong, I can't now, lol!
Forecast low was 15, low here was 18.0°C. (4th night in a row we have been above the forecast minimum).
Currently mostly cloudy and 20°C.

Well that yellow thing way up in the sky is shining on West Melton at the moment and it is 17.6 deg (and climbing) with the wind from the NNE at abt 4.8 kmh. We do have a few white clouds floating about but hopefully they will not stay and it will be a clear day with higher temps. Joyous!!
Will completely ignore what my weather station is telling me that "Precipitation possible within 24 to 48 hours" but will still get the washing out to day just in case.
