As far as I know it is not compatible with Windows 7 64-bit, that's what I found out anyway. I have the 32-bit version of Windows so I can use WeatherLink, although I don't use it for my website (I use other weather software)

Not me... I'm still holding out with XP... and using Cumulus. David is on Windows 7, I believe.

(ah, he posted while I was writing)

Blow, I have just built a new puta, and set it up with windows 7 64-bit

Does anyone know of any workaround, or other software that I could use to run the Davis station?

Maybe there is hope, copied this from another forum (I googled "weatherlink with windows 7")

I got it figured out.. i had to install/uninstall numerous times, then decided to just put it on my second hard drive.. so i ran the weatherlink 5.8.3 disk,,then went to davis and got the update.. and made sure i installed it in the same folder....

it's working... ! yeah !

when i recover from this.. i will try AGAIN to set up to upload my weather station info to the web...now! that looks really confusing and frustrating !

thanks everyone...!!

This also from the same google search, another forum response (this was dated October 2008).

Hello
Weatherlink should work well with Windows Vista 32-bit. We have only recently tested the current Weatherlink version in a 64-bit environment. The Weatherlink software works well in Windows Vista 64-bit. However, this was done using a dual core 32-bit processor and chip set. We are fairly confident that the Weatherlink software will not work in a true 64-bit environment, with a 64-bit processor and a 64-bit version of windows. Davis Instruments has no plans to create a 64-bit version of Weatherlink at this time. Our conclusion is that the requests for such an upgrade to Weatherlink would not justify the cost of development. The real issue is the USB driver. You can download and install a 64-bit version of the driver at www.silabs.com and try it. NO guarantees though.

My PC is getting quite old now, and may have to upgrade (perish the thought), so I think I am going to face all of this myself as well.

From what I'm reading it seems that the 32 bit Windows 7 (as David is using) should work, but not so promising for the 64 bit version.
Good luck, let us know what you decide and how you get on.

I find it odd that suppliers continue to push out 64bit operating systems to the general public. The first issue you will hit is most likely printing, then there are a bundle of other issues you may or may not get until peripheral suppliers catch up. Sure pushing out 64bit as standard will force the issue, but you'll still be playing catchup for a while.

The weatherlink has been used on Win7 with a bit of hassle and fiddling about from what I can find out, but not sure if those were 64bit or 32bit variants.

Yep, I know what you mean Grant, I have had some real problems getting some programs to run with it.
