| Any chance of rain for Whangarei ?????? Hi I live at whangarei heads near ocean beach, I am desparate to hear we will have rain I have been reading the weather forecasts, and are yet to see any sign of rain . The water tank is empty and everyday life has ground to a halt !! I need water please anyone know if we will get any rain like yesterday or is it time t call the water delivery man????   |

| Re: Any chance of rain for Whangarei ?????? Hi Louise and welcome to the site... I see you are there in Introductions - our formal thread for welcomes. I will have a look - this current band of rough blustery and wet bit of weather should get to you folks this evening. I have been waiting for the 12:00 repoeats of the Synops maps and the IR Satellite pic. I will come back with what I find... our friends in Auckland were getting dry too - all the wind was drying the ground out and it was cracking up. Not been that for us in Sth Waikato... I wish we could share some of it with you...

Follow these two or three links: NZ-Tasman Infrared Satellite Image (latest) - New Zealand:MetService.com - Weather Rain Radar - last 6 hours - All New Zealand:MetService.com - Weather Whangarei - New Zealand - yesterday today tomorrow forecasts tides sun rise set moon uv pollen:MetService.com - Weather and this last one is most important... Northland - New Zealand Rural / Farming:MetService.com - Weather as it indicates about 3/4" of rain = 20mm starting at 4pm and peaking at 8pm. Forecast: Rain becoming heavier this afternoon with strong northwesterlies, gale in exposed places. Winds turning westerly and easing this evening with rain easing to showers. I hope that helps... but it may be all you get for another week or so.

Hi everyone the rain started about 4.30ish yesterday but only drizzle really but come 6.30 we had a quick downpour and then steady light rain for about 4hrs, will climb the water tank today and see how well we did from last nights rain. Sun back out today, I know we love to see the sun but Iam hoping for more rain in the next few days. Cheers Louise. |
