| Re: Bird-Eating Spider near Cairns Australia ATO2 - Having a go at a pollie - probably will run away once it find the pollie is full of nothing but wind It's a Golden Orb Weaver, normally grows to size of a hand but this one is very exceptional nevermind the fact that they grow a bit bigger in the tropics. Found in areas mainly coastal of QLD. I'm so glad I don't live in the tropics! Here in Sydney -we have the much smaller St Andrews Cross species -usually comes out at the end of every Summer & can be found in the back garden on the washing line, they don't do any harm as long as one doesn't touch them. |
